Planning Committee Meeting

Join us for this informal study break for local law students where RPTE members will chat with the students about careers in our practice areas.

Fellows Meeting

This session is mandatory for all current Fellows and open to anyone new to the Section or attending their first in-person leadership meeting. The informal session will provide an overview of what to expect and how to navigate the conference, including which events to attend, how to use the event app, and general tips for getting the most out of the meeting.

RPTE 101 for New Leaders

An overview of how RPTE operates, how leaders contribute to the Section’s success, resources available to all leaders, and what to expect from this leadership meeting. All new leaders are encouraged to attend as well as anyone who needs a refresher or has questions about leadership roles.

The nominations committee sets the slate for the officer and council elections at the next annual meeting. Council members and others have set times to meet with the committee. Please click on the link to confirm the time of your interview and to review the background materials.

All registrants should plan on attending this session. We will begin with a welcome from Section Chair Marie Moore, discuss what needs to be accomplished while in New Orleans, review what meetings everyone should attend, and provide high-level goals for the year.

After a short break, we will [hear from a leadership speaker] who will introduce us to practical leadership skills to use in our practices and volunteer endeavors. We will then have discussions with our colleagues at our tables on how we can implement what we’ve learned to engage our members and have a successful year.

Have a specific question or RPTE issue you need help or direction with? Members of the Committee on Groups and Substantive Committees and staff will be available to provide personalized guidance! Stop by the table to chat with someone happy to help.

Standing Committee Meetings

Standing committees are the administrative arms of RPTE. Their meetings are open to all, so feel free to attend any meeting and learn more about CLE programs, sponsorship, publications, and whatever else you have an interest in!

TE CLE Committee Meeting

The CLE committee oversees RPTE continuing legal education programming including webinars, conferences, and institutes. The committee meets separately by division and as one.

RP CLE Committee Meeting

RPTEL Journal Editors Committee Meeting

The Journal is the section’s scholarly periodical published 3-times per year.

P&P magazine is published 6-times per year and is transitioning to a digital only format beginning in September 2026.

TE Books and Media Committee Meeting

The books and media committee oversees the RPTE book publishing program from acquisition to delivery. TE and RP editors meet separately.

Lunch & Division Breakouts

All group and committee chairs and vice-chairs should attend their group breakout to finalize plans for the year including member calls, article submissions, CLE programs, etc.

CLE Committee Meeting

The GSC committee provides coordination, monitoring and advice on the administrative operation of the Section’s groups and substantive committees.

The L&M committee oversees a mentoring program for RPTE leaders and provides other leadership resources.

Career Development and Wellness Committee Meeting

This committee supports attorneys with resources, professional development, and wellness initiatives. Through mentorship, career guidance, and well-being strategies, it fosters a thriving legal community.

RP Books and Media Meeting

Membership Committee Meeting

The membership committee promotes the acquisition, retention, and active involvement of members in the Section.

Corporate Sponsorship Committee Meeting

The sponsorship committee promotes sponsorship for the Section and its programs and activities.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Meeting

The DEI committee promotes the Section’s efforts to enhance diversity, full and equal participation, and inclusion by all within the Section through the implementation of the Section’s diversity plan.

Publications Committee Meeting

The publications committee oversees all RPTE publishing efforts.

Council Meeting and Lunch

All registrants are encouraged to attend the council meeting to hear updates on RPTE projects and activities.
