This session is mandatory for all current Fellows and open to anyone new to the Section or attending their first in-person leadership meeting. The informal session will provide an overview of what to expect and how to navigate the conference, including which events to attend, how to use the event app, and general tips for getting the most out of the meeting.

An overview of how RPTE operates, how leaders contribute to the Section’s success, resources available to all leaders, and what to expect from this leadership meeting. All new leaders are encouraged to attend as well as anyone who needs a refresher or has questions about leadership roles.

The nominations committee sets the slate for the officer and council elections at the next annual meeting. Council members and others have set times to meet with the committee. Please click on the link to confirm the time of your interview and to review the background materials.

Welcome and Plenary

All registrants should plan on attending this session. We will begin with a welcome from Section Chair Marie Moore, discuss what needs to be accomplished while in New Orleans, review what meetings everyone should attend, and provide high-level goals for the year.

After a short break, we will [hear from a leadership speaker] who will introduce us to practical leadership skills to use in our practices and volunteer endeavors. We will then have discussions with our colleagues at our tables on how we can implement what we’ve learned to engage our members and have a successful year.

Standing Committee Meetings

Standing committees are the administrative arms of RPTE. Their meetings are open to all, so feel free to attend any meeting and learn more about CLE programs, sponsorship, publications, and whatever else you have an interest in!

The CLE committee oversees RPTE continuing legal education programming including webinars, conferences, and institutes. The committee meets separately by division and as one.
